The carpets that you have inside your home may be subjected to too much wear and tear as each day passes by. Most carpets are made tough with the substance called Olefin but you still have to clean regularly to make it last long. Though your carpet may look stain-free, but it actually stores some oil-based stains within its fibers. You can eliminate these stains by blotting the area with some dish detergent. Make sure to rinse it thoroughly after washing it off. Another problem is the wicking of the carpet. Stains may seem to come back but when you are washing the carpet, they are just driven down the base of the cloth fibers and they resurface again once the carpet is dry. To solve this, vacuum the carpet before you wash it. You should vacuum it twice to make sure that stubborn dirt is eliminated.

The material Olefin is also known for crushing. The fibers get smashed and tangled up which results to a poor appearance of the carpet. There is no cleaning technique that will reverse this effect but the more often you vacuum the carpet, then the less noticeable the crushing will be. If you are planning to buy new carpets, do not choose those with long loop Berbers for they are more prone to crushing.
